Color matched dash defrost outlets??

On a stock appearing dash we are replacing the dash defroster outlets. Should the black aftermarket replacement defroster outlets be colormatched to the dash color or left black? The dash is orange. Pics would help my customer decide which way is correct.

Re: Color matched dash defrost outlets??

My dash is black and I painted mine black as well, if it was a different color I would match whatever the color is..

I also have blue defrost vents that need replacing. I was wondering how repop vents painted over blue would turn out? I have seen the Color Bond paint that LMC sells in various colors to match interior colors. Anyone had good success painting over black vents?

I *THINK* they are supposed to match the color of the vinal... which actually, the top of the dash is supposed to be a flat paint the same color as the dash pad.

Re: Color matched dash defrost outlets??

My originals were green, and matched the dash pad. Still lookin for good originals, since mine were trashed beyond repair. I'm just using the black ones for now, at least until I find green ones to replace them.

Re: Color matched dash defrost outlets??

Mine were originally orange, well red, and matched the dash and dash pad. I had them repainted blue like the dash when I repainted the truck. All the original trucks I've seen were painted or were at least molded in a color that matched the interior color. I think it looks better when they match. It makes the color flow and blend in. Having two different colored squares will attract unwanted attention.
