I am considering buying this truck. (very clean, original and no rust) I was wondering what you thought of the utility bed on it. Is it home made? Or something these things came with sometimes?

If the truck came with the original bed and had A/C, I would have most likely bought it already. I for sure don't want the camper!

Let me know what you think.

I know the Ford hubcaps are not helping anything!

Thanks

that is actually a later model utility bed. The ones that were put on these trucks back in the day were a converson that fit over the stock stepside bed.
In all reality, you could sell that on your local craigs list, and probably get some decent money out of it... I would think 2 or 3 hundred, but that is just a guess

Sell the work bed , buy a long bed, have it painted to match maybe blending the paint into the cab corners or doors to make the color a little less noticeable when it does not match. Jim

I posted a little bigger picture of the fender emblem. Looks like "Custom 30" or "Custom 20" and there is something under the Bigger word too. I am not that familar with these emblems.

The truck has a 402, TH400, no A/C, and fairly low miles, I don't know to much more about it detail wise.

Here are some interior shots. Looks like speaker holes are the only negative in here. Not sure what that is on the top center of the guage cluster?

that little emblem underneath the word custom problably says deluxe, i would suspect that the trucks is a c20
that bed looks kinda neat, but you cant beat a good shape stock bed
i would buy it up, it would definately be a nice work truck with the utility if it is a c30, and it would be a great place to start body wise

If the utility bed is as good as the pics appear to be, then the bed would bring $300-$400.... Very much desired by contractors etc...tools can be locked inside any of the 6 compartments....
