Relocating the gas tank?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...=p4506.c0.m245
I was looking at getting this kit, that is by CPP, but it says modifications are needed to mount it in the 67-72 truck, i was just wondering if anyone else has this kit (or similar) and what "modifications" are needed?
Also anyone have any good pictures of this or similar installed?
Thanks!

Re: Relocating the gas tank?

I think if any it would include the following:

- drilling a few holes
- running new fuel lines
- I know on some of the aluminum you have to rework the rear crossmember (not the right term, drawing a blank...) on the frame
- possible notch, or bed modification for a filler

Sounds easy enough, im not sure if i would want to put the filler in the bedside or just in the floor (i don't really plan on using the bed that much)

Re: Relocating the gas tank?

There's also a few members on the board that have done this install, or a very similar one. Run a quick search through the board, and I know you'll find a ton of info on other custom setups.

Good luck with the project!

Re: Relocating the gas tank?

Yeah the modifications they speak of are the obvious... where are you gonna put the filler neck. You gotta run the lines things like that.
