guys with soft tops

going to put on my hard top for the winter, do i need to remove the snaps across the windshield frame, or will the top clear them??

Yes, I use to do that too. To prevent water from getting into your windshield frame I would fill the holes with RTV
I also filled the holes on the bed rail.

I pulled the screws & snaps from the header (I have a fastrac so it has a strip) and put RTV over them. I left the other snaps in the side of the windshield frame. On the tailgate, I pulled the strip and left the holes open. I figured the holes on the tailgate trim don't have any thing sealing them so the holes from the strip should be fine.

I have heard a few guys have put the top on without removing the snaps on the header. I've never tried it so I don't know how well it works.
