Help! Driveshaft dent
I was changing the rear u-joint and put a dent in the driveshaft, now it has a vibration at about 55 mph. Can a driveshaft shop rebalance it or do I need to get a new one?
Thanks, Bo

Yikes...you musta been swingin pretty dang hard!
A shop should be able to ballance it, but if your making a but load of power, you oughta think about replacing it. |

Take it to the shaft shop and ask them. I don't know how deep the dent is, but it could have weakened the shaft.

Previous owner of my truck had done some off roading and when I got the truck it vibrated bad. Took the driveshaft in and the shop straightened it and then balanced it...runs nice and smooth now. If you find a good shop they can tell you if they can fix it or not.
