Factory saddle tank door with rear tank?

I'm picking up a new bed for my truck tomorrow but it has the filler door in the bed from the saddle tanks. I'm getting ready to install my rear mount gas tank and wondering if anyone has ever tried using the factory door? Of course the tubes would be fairly long running to the filler door, but wondering if it's high enough to allow the gas to flow to the tank and not just sit in the tube?
