Question Crap, now its my tailgate

Hello All once again,
I used the truck last night to load a table and then this morning went to open the tailgate and the latch is very tight, I do not want to pull too hard in fear I might break something.
Anyone have any idea's on how to get it open without complicating things?
Thanks again all,
Rick

it could be a lube isse, or an adjustment issue.
Try pushing in or pulling out on the top of the gate with your free hand, and see if it helps. If it does, then you'll have to adjust the recievers or the trunion.
The squirt everything with some PB blaster real good and see if that helps.

Also make sure there isn't anything caught in the hinge area at the bottom. That will make them bind. If there is something in there, pushing in on the top while pulling on the latch as Andy said will usually get it open.....
