I'm playing around with different gas tank set ups for my 66. I was thinking how cool it would be to pull up to a station, hit a button, and the bed tilts up/back from the cab exposing the gas tank.......anyone have a setup like this? If so can you share pictures?

a friend has a "diamiond tilt hood and bed on his late model dually. custom rack to support the weight of the audio in the bed.

I think bed-lifts are still cool. Joe is right, they are a bit late 80's early 90ish.

I use to install those alot back in those days.

I thought about that at one point for the Chief, but would be a very last item on my to do list.

Because of the fact that our trucks use wood in the bed, and the crossmembers aren't all that, a sub-frame out of mild 2" square tubing would be the best route to go. The hydraulic cylinders would then push on the subframe.

Most importantly would be the hinges. Some people would use gate hinges

not a good idea. I always made mine out of cold roll and tubing.
