Do you technically "need" 4 valves? No. Do you really "want" 4 valves? Yes! Unless you have each bag isolated, you will have air transfer when cornering. It's not as pronounced on the rear, but it's there. Do you want your suspension tight, or squishy?

If you run a small diameter line the transfer will not be as noticeable. If you run large line and 4 valves it will really jump. Just depends on what you want.

Re: do i really need 4 valves for rear

I'm runnin a 6 valve setup, 4 in front 2 in rear. From what I can tell I have very little if any transfer. I'm also runnin 3/8" line, but wish I would have ran 1/4" instead.

The diagram that jlaird linked to is your best bet should you decide not to run the extra valve. The only thing that I don't like about using one dump valve for the rear suspension is the rearend deflates too slowly. I like it controlled but there is just no weight in a pickup bed.
