Re: New Guy from the United Kingdom

Welcome from Houston, TX. If treated right, those early 90s model chevy trucks seem as though they will run forever. My mother worked with a guy who had one with 525,000 miles on it. Also there was a popular story here in the states a few months ago about a guy who had one that reached 1,000,000 miles WITHOUT the engine or trans bieng rebuilt!! GM purchased the truck to analyze it. Good luck and enjoy you're truck and the board.

Re: New Guy from the United Kingdom

Thanls for the warm welcome guys

My truck has 170000k miles on it. It starts 1st time every time
The guy i bought it from was the 1st owner, He had it shipped over to the UK in 1992
The only problem i have with it is one rusty chassis bracket. Its on the passenger side and it holds on the rear of the cab (by a rubber mount) and the front of the bed to the chassis.
The bracket is welded to the chassis
can you buy this bracket on its own?

I saw these cheap on ebay so i snapped them up

do headers make a marked improvement over standard manifolds?

Re: New Guy from the United Kingdom

Hello once again, I am not sure about how much better headers are than the exhaust manifold. I usually stick with stock because I know that way everything is engineered to be compatible. However it seems that everyone wants headers. Your best bet would be to ask that question on one of the thread sections. Most people on the newb section just write in their newb welcome intos and dont ever read the posts.

You should be able to find parts for your style truck for not much more than a song. Those trucks are still a dime a dozen here and therefore parts are very cheap. Hell, I sold an entire 1990 GMC truck for $200 (what is that 130 pounds or so) about two years ago. Just let us know if there is anything you need; everyone here is very friendly and helpful.
