I built a B&M Quicksilver shifter into the bench seat when I had my 81 c10. It was really confortable right next to my leg. Unfortunately the truck was stolen before I took pics of it. It worked well.

I was going to go with an auto floor shift, but id like to keep the originality and if i ever need to put 3 people in it, i would like to be able to shift. and i found out a 700r4 will work on the column

When I bought the truck, the PO had a 70's Camaro shifter bolted to a 2x4 on the floor, holesawed a place to run the cable through, and doing so where he placed it ripped the front of the seat. It did not work with a damn either, out it came.

On the column now, found a decent steering column, and all related parts. Couldn't be happier.

Floor.
The PO replaced a Muncie SM 465 with a TH350; so a floor shifter was the obvious choice.

Sorry, no pics available. Maybe someday, though.

Quarter stick. Planning on building a pedestal to raise it up to a more comfortable position.

No, mine is an automatic tilt column. Since I am going to be using bucket seats I am thinking about going with a Lokar floor shift, but that is way down the line.

I'm thinking about the Lokar floor shifter as well, but does anyone know if it has a reverse lock-out? I'm worried about my girls kicking it out of gear while driving down the road. Any input on these?

It has a button built into the shift knob. Push down to go in and out of park .Not sure about reverse lockout . Their web site might have that info or a member that has one . I have looked at them at every car show and never thought about that .

That button on the Lokar can start to rattle. Look at Gennie Shifter. It uses side pressure to change gears. Have one in my 28. My 70 C10 is going 5 speed so its going to have to be on the floor.
