Question What year S-10 for door weatherstripping and seat belts?

For the life of me I can't find my notes on what year of S-10's o get the weatherstripping from to fit our trucks, or for the 3-point seat belts. Anyone?

I think the weatherstripping is from S-10's concluding in 93...

Re: What year S-10 for door weatherstripping and seat belts?

1st gen square body. I think it's 82-93. It worked OK for me, but I feel that my doors shut too hard still. This was with used weather stripping too that's been on the truck over 2 years now. I can't adjust my doors out anymore, the body lines wouldn't match up.

Re: What year S-10 for door weatherstripping and seat belts?

I have heard the S-10 weatherstripping is a bit too tight as well. Check with Wes from Classicheartbeat. He sells and recommends the Dodge Dakota weatherstripping. Same as the S-10 stuff, but a little less tight and lets the door shut easier

I can't remember the s-10 seatbelts either and I really want to get a set. I know it's not off the extended cabs, I think just the regular cabs.

The S-10 and Dakotas use pinch molding to attach the seal to the body, instead of using weatherstrip adhesive.

Chris I will do that. I still need to go for that "test ride" too.

Is there another one that I am not finding?

Re: What year S-10 for door weatherstripping and seat belts?

I just bought weatherstirp from Wes. I am not sure of what it was intended for as it is what he has listed for my 71 online. looks good though. I had to get a new windshield rubber and decided to get the door rubber at the same time.

I sent Wes an email asking about the Dakota weatherstriping. I'll keep looking for the S-10 seat belt option.

No, that's it. I had them installed in my '67 but took them out when I put the 'in cab tank' back in. I was going to put them in the '68 but got a killer deal off the parts board just recently so mine are just sitting out for now.
Basically, they just bolt in the same place as the originals including the B pillar. It's a no brainer, but hard to make the ds work with tank in cab as shown below. Here's a pic of a buddies belts up top. Mine are the lower profile style below and I think they look better. From my observations it seems that the best ones come in Oldsmobile Bravadas, but I'm not sure the exact year- right around the mid 90's.

Ok thanks Brad. Ill be cruising the local CL to see if I can find any. Do they just not fit between the gas tank and door?

Re: What year S-10 for door weatherstripping and seat belts?

You won't find them at all on CL. You need to go to the U-pull by your house. But on used belts, always take into consideration the condition of the vehicle and any major damage to it. You probably don't want belts that were in a major fender-bender. Otherwise if it just appears the vehicle is relatively fine, then you'll be ok.

As you can see in the pic, a special adaptor plate was needed to offset the base from the tank. Even when they were in like you see, the belt didn't want to retract all the way and was kind of annoying. If you don't have the tank inside, then you can just literally bolt them in all the original holes and they work great!

Ok sweet I love a good junkyard scrounge. So look for mid 90's beater cars? Not S10's?

While any belt may work, we're talking about S-10 belts here. I'll go back and edit a bit more.
