Re: 8 lug wheels

Yes, 8" on 6 1/2" pattern. Some of the later semi floating light duty 3/4 tons had a little smaller bore size, and the offsets on various generation trucks were slightly different

Re: 8 lug wheels

Would the offset cause me any problems with the later wheels on an older axle?

No, I've run new hd wheels on several trucks with no issue. My current truck has hd wheels and 295-75 bfg's and it does just barely rub at full turn on the pitman arm but not enought to worry about.

I would like to add some 1-2" wheel spacers to bring them out a bit, just for looks though.

Re: 8 lug wheels

Cochino, how did you get the hub covers to stay on? I have a set of those wheels I was going to use on my 84 k20 but the lug nut threads are metric and the hub covers need the special lug nut with threads on the outside. Did you replace all the wheel studs with metric ones or did you find lug nuts with standard american threads??

You need dual thread nuts for your 9/16" studs.
They are here:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

Here's another pic of the steel wheels available too. They are off of an '01 model, but I think they are the same from '00 to present. I got them for free from a friend so I don't know what they cost.

Re: 8 lug wheels

Those look pretty good on these ol' trucks!!! I wonder how they will look on my suburban when I get it finished. I would think they shouldn't be too expensive of a wheel. The lugs are a pretty good price. Both of ya got nice trucks.

Re: 8 lug wheels

Check around Tire/Wheel shops and Custom Truck shops. A Lot of times they have "take offs" for decent $. Other wise Craigslist, Ebay, Etc. GM Dealer on the Alum. ones would probably be $450-$500 each

Re: 8 lug wheels

Well the swap is done. I'll order the special lug nuts tommorow so I can put the caps on. The front caps will have to be modified so I can engage the 4WD. Don't say it, I'm not going to put auto hubs on it. I have a shelf in the garage full of them I have changed for people over the years. Truck is done as far as the body work goes and it's all painted. In the spring I'll wet sand it and buff her out. It's off the road for the winter. I have pics but they won't go in here. I'll e-mail them to anyone who can get them in. I am a computer dumbass, LOL. Jim

Re: 8 lug wheels

I paid $200 for my alloys and another $100 for a chrome steel set.

I may have an extra set of the double lugs if someone is looking for them.

Re: 8 lug wheels

Well I'll be dipped in stuff. I did it. Saints be praised. Wheels got changed yesterday. I have pics of the whole job from start to finish. You can't see it all but I got about $14,000 in this thing. I love it but think I must have a few loose screws up in the bellfry. Pics are kind of dark, but I'll be posting more after the wheels are all set. I'm waiting for the special lug nuts to get here. If anyone wants to see all the pics I can e-mail them along with an explanation of the job and what went into it. jim

Re: 8 lug wheels

Thanks,I appreciate the info.

I was checking the donor truck, and found that it has a 4.10 axle ratio. Do you think this will be a problem for my 700r4,or will it be able to shift thru okay?
