85 glovebox latch removal???
I need to remove the glovebox latch for paint and I can't for for the life of me figure out how to get it out/apart.
It's a nonlocking type and has a tiny hole in the center where the key slot would normaly be. That got anything to do with releasing it? I'm stumped.

For a first post looks like you got good potential.
I talked with a friend and he was saying the same thing but could not remember exactly how or where the "tool" worked. THANKS for the link. Need any paint or bodywork advice, you can find me in the paint forum. Thanks again,Mike.

Re: 85 glovebox latch removal???
Thanks again. Worked like a charm.
The 85 only had 2 tumblers and I used an A clamp to hold the latch lock closed and in 5 min. had it apart. The insert on the front screws in and that was the only "trick" not mentioned but it's obvious so no big mystery.
