Operation "FRANKENSTEIN"
The purists will hate this truck.
Full build under way, and looking for advice and input. Were calling it "frankenstein" because it is pieced together from 3 decades of trucks to bring it back to life. Rust killed this truck, LOTS of organ donors is bringing it back. -Just like Frankenstein. We trial fitted everything the other night, 8 different colors, 3 different styles combined, parts from 10 different trucks collected over 2 decades......and somehow....even in it's rough, mocked up form, it all looked so RIGHT. Cant wait to to start slinging paint. Medium mettalic green and pearl white as of now.....but that might change. 67 Short step 2WD frame. 95 Step bed 87 15x8 6 hole rallyes. 1970 Cab 67 door/70 door 71 wiring harness 68 Grille/67 fenders & hood 72 front bumper 80 TH350 67 283 (rebuilt, about 300 HP) 69 Tilt ........ ....Mid 70's sway bars, power disc brakes and power steering, .....and a bunch of new stuff.....rear roll pan, brothers one piece glass, HEI, one-wire alt conversion....etc, etc. We have all the parts, and we are ironing out a few cab/body issues right now (Rocker panels, cab corners, lower door skins, ...the usual suspects) but have already swung the new cab on the old frame which has been rebuilt, painted and detailed. Ill be picking you guys brains for a lot of ideas and knowledge, as this is the first CHEVY truck wev'e built. So far, looking better than any ford weve evered swung a MIG welder and wrenches at ever did, so pretty excited about it. Looking forward to getting to know you all. Thanks all. |

Re: Operation "FRANKENSTEIN"
Welcome to the greatest Chevy truck site on the web.
I don't understand why you would call the truck Frankenstien, other than the bed it sounds like a lot of the trucks members have. After 40 years you have to use the best parts you can gather. BTW Where's the pics?
