military rims ?

I pick up a poss rear for my 72 blazer the guy that sold me the blazer rears also sold me 15x10 steel rims that will fit on the blazer the stock hub caps fit also,,,, he said the military wanted larger tires for the blazer so they wanted 10 inch rims instead of stock ones has anybody ever heard of this? do not have rims on yet

i dont know if they were original but i looked at a us army 71 c10 and it was suposedly unmodified and it had wide rims but i never measured
it may be an opption, it would be neat to find out it that was true

I always remember the army blazers having wide steel wheels, but never thought they were that wide.
Regardless of what they are, if they have the flat green paint, do not sand the paint off, the CARC paint is very bad stuff if you inhale the dust.

They are eight inches wide and a 6 lug pattern.

anybody know if BFG All Terrains 33 x 12.5 x 15 will fit on 8 inch rims ??
