1978 horn contact parts

Yo! The diagram I find in LMC Truck's catalog doesn't seem to be proper,...anybody have a picture of the parts for a '78 P/U's horn assembly in the steering column? Contact, spring, and plastic retainer in the turn signal cancelling assembly and the parts in the steering wheel,...contact plate, insulator, and cap. I'm trying to rebuild this assembly that had parts missing. The order of assembly seems incorrect in the diagram I have, and I'm still missing the conact plate for the steeing wheel. Ordering the horn button cap (horn pad) from Classic Industries this week,...mines unusable. Junkyard is my only other source of info. Thanks, Todd.

Chevy dealerships still carry the parts and also have the schematic. I just went through this on my 78 camper speacil, what a pain. That pin that goes into the spring with the little plastic lock mechanism has to be trimed to 3/4-inch or so, I over cut it and had to modify a rivet of the same size to make it work. But go to the chevy dealership for what you need.

Perfect! I discovered a diagram in my '74 Camaro shop manual just a half hour ago, and then find your posted link to confirm,...spring, aluminum shaft, lock down with the plastic insulator! That's what I've seen in the junkyard, but LMC truck's catalog has the shaft and spring reversed (shaft, spring, insulator,...wrong!)
Now I just need to find the proper Belleville spring to fit my '78 steering wheel. Cap and insulator fit, and I find a GM logo horn button for my steering wheel at Classic Industries, but I'll need to call them for the part number of the Bowtie logo one that my truck SHOULD have.
