Re: hoods
The 67-68 hoods have a slope to them and are longer (come down to meet the 67-68 grill)
A 69 up hood will leave a gap between the front edge of it and the 67-68 grill and the hood latch will not line up. The 67-68 hood also follows the contours of the 67-68 fenders. I can't imagine any way to make the later hoods work with the 67-68, and personally can't believe anyone would want to... The 67-68 front design is perfect... I have seen people MAKE 67-68 hoods work on 69-72 trucks, but it is a lot of work. Rg

Re: hoods
The contours are the same on all years of fenders arent they? Just the front slope, length, and hood latch are different. Right?

Re: hoods
Andy, not to hijack this, but I have heard you have to change the core support in a front end swap. (IE... take a '70 and put a '67 front end on it...) Can the existing support be modified or no? I have been curious, because I have a friend who has a '70 and he wants a '67-'68 front end.
Thanks! Don

Re: hoods
The contour of the fenders can be taken to mean different things. The only difference (besides marker lights) on the 67-72 fenders is that the 69-72 Chevy fenders have an indentation in the front of the fender for the 69-72 Chevy grille to fit over. The 67-68 Chevy and 67-72 GMC fenders do not have this indentation.

Also on the core supports other than the head light buckets the 69-72 don't have the 67-68 splash pan mounting holes (threaded inserts) Rg
