Re: Took some pics today of my 1500 dollar special..

Blue, you are half way there. In Photobucket, click on the pic you want then onto "direct link". Copy the direct link. go back here(the forum) & click on the little yellow background with mountains icon up above. A box will pop up & if "htpp" is in it delet it, then paste your "direct link" from Photobucket. That's it, the pic wll show up when you post.
It took me a few try's but i figured it out.........

BTW, nice $1500 find!

Re: Took some pics today of my 1500 dollar special..

Low....do not confuse the "computarded". I must have spent 3 hrs figuring out how to post a pic, so now i am like the idiot that only knows how to get home one way. Gimmie another route & i am totally confused........

Where Viola? I am in NE TN between kinda between Knoxville & Kinsgsport. As far as value, well around here you probably won't loose any money, but you won't double it either. That truck in other parts of the country would bring more money, so market it out of the area(here on the forum or Fleabay/etc). How's the rust...floor, rockers cab corners etc? What does the interior look like? It is unusual to see one in TN that doesn't have rust(looking for a cab for my '68 do to roof rust). Don't tell me it is a brarn find - the Holey Grail of old truck finds...

Re: Took some pics today of my 1500 dollar special..

just surface rust in the bed...theres a rusted thru spot behind the driver side seatbelt area...bout 3" in diam...around the lil drip rails around the cab its rusty..a few alum. patches on the floorboards..so it aint perfect...but gonna proly patch all the spots with sheet metal screws and alum. and throw a pice of carpet over the whole interior floor..sound okay? uhmm..most the locals ehre in viola say it was pretty well taken care of all its life..bout 5-10 years ago it was newarly show truck condition...

You're flirting with a "for sale" thread.

But yes, you got a good deal and nice truck!

Re: Took some pics today of my 1500 dollar special..

Sheet metal screws & aluminium will not increase the value. The only way to properly fix rust is to cut it out & weld in patch panels. If you are thinking about selling, IMO, leave it alone, disclose all the "issues" & sell it as is.

Re: Took some pics today of my 1500 dollar special..

Yes a small mig is perfect for that job. Do alot reading & research on the paint & body forum. Don't overlap the sheet metal, cut out a section, use that as a pattern then weld it in. Brace the cab before you cut out any cab mounts/rockers/floor pans. If you don't the cab can shift screwing up the alignment of the doors/fenders/cowl/bed...etc. Don't ask me how i know this, because my blood pressure goes up.
