BBC pics PLEASE!!!

Im about to drop my 2000 model 454 into my truck and I was hoping all of you great guys who have done this can send me some pics of yours. It dosent have to be the same model just a BBC in general. Im trying to decide how to do my motor mounts and if i want to keep the serpantine system and such things like that. Ive done alot of research on the mounts and more than likely im going to just order a set from performance or someone like that. All pics would be welcome and greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry J

Re: BBC pics PLEASE!!!

Just buy a set of 73 and up frame brackets, clamshells, and the c clamp looking motor side of the mount. The 72 and 73 are similar enough that it'll work fine, if I remember right, you'll need to drill a couple of holes. Now then, lets move onto the good stuff, where to put the engine?! It will fit right where the SBC sits, or move it just a hair forward to give yourself valve cover clearance and room for an HEI. Want to run sepr set-up (I would!), just leave the BBC in the SBC location, and buy a small capped distributor, that simple. I have a 454 in the stock sbc location on my 4X4 Blazer, the hei touches the firewall just a hair, and only because to time is perfectly the one plug terminal lines right up with the firewall and touches just a bit.

Re: BBC pics PLEASE!!!

I just got my Tubular mounts in from Performance Online. They look sick. They move the motor fwd an inch to clear the firewall with HEI's. Cost me 2 bills but well worth it IMO.

Re: BBC pics PLEASE!!!

Here are a couple of mine of the 72 only style. I like them the best and would suggest finding them. They are a little costly but not as much as the new ones you are talking about. The 73 and newer ones are almost the same and would probably work just as well.

Re: BBC pics PLEASE!!!

Hey guys thanks for all the pics. Would have gotten on here sooner but was deer huntin all weekend. gotta have priorities ya know. Keep them coming though im getting some good ideas. I have been thinking about the 73 and up style mounts and just moving them forward a bit to make room for the HEI but i see alot of the pics here are of the small cap distros which makes me reconsider HEI. I thought about going this route as well but i already have an HEI so it probably just depends on the budget at the time. Has anyone run the serp setup? I was wondering if there would be any clearance issues on the PS pump side? I really want to get rid of the manual steering so this would be an excuse to do so. Also what everone running for tranny's? I was thinking of just running my 3 speed till i get a 4 speed but i have a 400 sitting on the shelf i could use. More pondering to do i guess.
