To paint, or not, Edelbrock manifold.
I am tidying up my motor as part of my truck rebuild and have bought an Edelbrock intake manifold and water pump. They both are just ‘raw’ aluminum finish which I know will deteriate over time. I thought I should paint them before I put them on so it is easier to maintain. I want an ‘aluminum look’ and yes, I should have paid for Endura Shine! I have got some POR silver engine paint which looks kinda ok. So have you left your's and they last pretty ok, or you’ve painted them with ??
What’s the smart option? Trying not to be pedantic but if I do these two bits what about the alternator, propane parts etc! Bill.

I would just spray clear on them if you want an aluminum look
 But I have had several bare intake manifolds & never liked them bare, the last one was the best but I was always washing it off at the car wash (and no, I didnt have a show truck  )

Rustoleum Brite Coat Metallic Finish Aluminum #V7715 on manifold, wp, and alt case. Please excuse the cobra air cleaner it's gone now.

I painted mine Chevy Orange. The manifold looked really nice. Much better than I had hoped.

I used silver wheel paint,I think it was duplicolor but I could be wrong. I got it at autozone. It worked real well just a light coat and looks like fresh casting. Hey Eraser5 what are doing up so late? Go to bed and stop looking at porn.

Leave it alone. Just do cleaning maintenance on it. I've had mine on almost 2 years now, and still looks like new. Either that or power coat it silver.

DupliColor make a paint called Cast Coat Aluminum. It's available from any major parts store. I had painted an intake with it once, it held up well and resisted gas and oil. It's also a very similar color to the cast color the intake comes. You really had to look at it to know it was painted.
I have my intake, valve covers, water pump, ps pump and brackets painted in the Cast Coat Iron color now. Here's how it looks.

I think clear powdercoat looks fantastic on an "as cast" intake. I should have done mine before I installed it!

both of mine are powder coated on my trucks... My nova was raw and seems to stain a little easily...

i like getting them either powder or ceramic coated at the very least i'll paint them with engine enamel if funds are low

I wanted to have the stock look so I painted mine Chevy orange, also painted the alternator.

Yep, I always carefully grind the name off of them and bead blast it to roughen up the area, then paint it to match the engine. Gives the stock sleeper engine look.

68stepbed, that looks really sharp!
 I powdercoated my L6 intake in silver and while I've had many compliments on it, I don't like the look of it and wish I had left it uncoated. Actually, if I were to do it all over again, I'd either do what 68stepbed did or pc it in clear.

I had mine Armor coated inside and out.
This is a ceramic powder coat. 0 staining Looks nice I had the headers and water neck finished in the same material
