Lean Over

I have a 78 Chevy, half ton, short wide bed.... I have about a 1 and a half inch difference in ride height from drivers side to passenger side. I look like I have two flat tires on one side. I thought I had just had worn springs, so I changed the back leafs for another set (not new but were better than I had) and it still leans, all the tires are the same 255/60/r15, all have the same air pressure, yet it leans... I know the shocks are really worn, but that wouldn't hurt the "stance" of the truck would it? Any help would be good, I was thinking of lowering it with a flip kit and such, but I don't want to do that if the frame is bent or something and have a really goofy leaning lowrider, thanks for any help/ideas

I agree. Look at your body mounts to see if they need replaced.

Re: Lean Over

I haven't checked the cab forward, but the bed mounts are all the same. The gap between the top of the tire to the bottom of the passenger side fenders are shorter than that of the driver's side, which made me think the springs were shot. So I replaced them, and that didn't change it at all.

Re: Lean Over

78? Where's the gas tank? My 05 has a case of the chevy lean when the tank is full!

Re: Lean Over

Don't know how accurate it would be, but what about measuring from ground to frame. In theory if you get the same numbers on both sides then the lean is in the body.

Re: Lean Over

The gas tank is on the passenger side, never thought of that being a cause of the problem.
Also Tigga, I will measure the ground to frame, next time I park on level ground.
I've been rackin' my lil pea brain trying to think if it's always leaned, or if I have done something (hauled an extra heavy load, hit something, etc.) that would have caused it and I really can't say.
So I'll try to measure the ground to frame and see, but also is there rubber bed mounts or does the bed bolt straight to the frame, it doesn't look like it has any rubber in there.
