NOS parts question
so, how can I tell if a part is NOS if it's not in the box.
there are a couple "NOS" door bottoms (insides) for $20 a piece near me, and I NEEEEED them but I don't want to buy repop stuff. I have NEVER been satisfied with the quality or thickness of repop parts. so, how can I tell?

Re: NOS parts question
It wouldn't seem likely that GM made them in my opinion. They didn't really cater to rust repair panels, and sold complete doors if needed, so odds would seem slim.

Re: NOS parts question
If GM wanted to sell rust repair parts, they would put themselves in position to lose money by not selling the entire assembly. Oh wait, GM is, and has been, losing money. Maybe they shoulda been selling rust repair panels. Certainly seems like a good idea for the aftermarket.....

Re: NOS parts question
No patch panels from factory. All N.O.S. parts would be the actually panel as it is in your truck. There were doors and skins in the surplus.I`m not sre about the inner door.

Re: NOS parts question
There use to be a term use "NOSR" which was "new old stock replacement" from an aftermarket company from years ago, & wasn't USA made.

If GM had half a brain, they would still make/sell parts for our trucks. There is a HUGE market out there for them. |

Re: NOS parts question
They do still make a surprising number of parts for these trucks.
