Wiper Motor Seal(s)

The rainy season is approaching, we hope.

I'm fixin' to install trash screens and wiper motor seals on both of my trucks.

It appears, to me, that the easiest way to install the wiper motor seals is to remove the glove box & attack it that way.
Am I right? Am I wrong?

Any constructive advice, comments, or criticisms would be greatly appreciated.

My wiper motor fell out of the cowl of my truck, because a previous owner used some non-automotive silicone sealer that caused rust and that has led to many issues with my cab. All I had to do to get my wiper motor out was gut the cab of my truck.....because I have to replace the firewall/cowl with used sheetmetal. But, don't let that deter you.

If you are wanting to physically remove the wiper motor, it will be a challenge, but not impossible to do. You'll have to pull the louvered cowl piece, after removing the wiper arms. Then, you'll have to remove the linkage where it is attached to the armature of the wiper motor.

After that, you gotta get up under the dash and remove the three nuts that hold the motor ass'y in place. There will be an electrical connection, too. You gotta be sure to mind the "clocking" of the motor so when you reinstall it you have your wipers operating correctly.

Any time I pull anything with linkages, etc., apart, I index everything with a "Sharpie".

I have water, on my GMC, leaking down through the middle of the dash. I'm just hoping it's the wiper motor seal. I don't want to wipe out a relatively new stereo.

No real problems on my Chevy, I just figured since I have the cowl off & I'm installing trash screens, I might as well install the wiper motor seals.
