Factory refers to it as full time. It will have a 203 transfercase. You can either buy a 'part-time' kit for the case or swap over to a 205 gear driven case. The front axle can be converted very easily with a set of warn 20990 locking hubs (standard 1/2 ton issue).

cman,
I'm parting a 77 w/203 that has the part time kit and Warn Prem hubs, let me know if you decide to keep the 203, I'll be selling these parts shortly.

The consenus is that the 205 is better because its gear driven and the 203 is chain driven.

All K10s are 4x4. If you have a picture of the transfer case someone should be able to tell you if it is original 4x4 or one of the AWD units from a van or syclone.

Re: 76 k10 all wheel drive?

Going by your shifter markings, you have a 203. The Low Loc & Hight Loc are not for the differentials. It's for the TC. If the TC, is in Low or High, the TC acts like a differential splitting power between the front & rear, but in either one of the LOC positions, the power is distributed evenly between front & rear.....
