I need new tie rods

I am converting from drum to disks and I need to replace the Tie Rods.

Should I replace the whole thing or just the end? What brand are you using? Where are you buying your parts?

We have an Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, Napa and a few other local auto parts houses. Thanks

if they are original i personally would replace them all. We bought ours from Autozone, but NAPA would be a good choice. Get the ones made in America. Good luck with your conversion.

Are you using stock spindles, aftermarket, drop?

Some aftermarket spindles will let you use the original yr tie rod end. Stock and most aftermarket will require '71 and up outers. You will most likely need a special tie rod adjuster or the whole linkage from a '71 and up truck.

Replace the whole thing. They will be much easier to adjust when you get the front end re-aligned. If you have the money, use Moog suspension parts.

Can actually order Moog thru Advanced Auto. Ledzepp, hoping the cash will let me get the Moog Parts but if not - I'm gonna buy the TRW Parts. They are also made in the USA and carry the same limited lifetime warranty as Moog.

BTW, there stock Spindles. Thanks guys for all the input.
