Another A/C question
I have 70 1/2 ton 4x4 with factory air. Everything is in the dash but some of the stuff is missing under the hood. Found a 69 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive with factory air. Will all the 69 A/C stuff interchange with the 70? Will any of the later trucks (73-87) A/C stuff work in the 70? Both trucks are factory automatics. Thanks!

As long as the engine configuration is the same on both, you should have no trouble( other than the fan shroud).
The 73+ is different, they used a long waterpump configuration which makes the brackets and pulleys different. You'll be able to use the compressor as long as its the original A-6 design. 73+ also used a fixed orfice tube instead of the old POA valve. |

A good 3 core radiator will work and all of the 69 parts should work, assuming the engines are similiar, (both big block or both small block).
You will want a shroud, especially with AC. Jim |

4x4 shroud is different (longer) than a 2wd. The engine is set back and requires a deeper shroud.

I got the 69 truck yesterday. All the A/C is still there. It even works! Only problem is the truck has the 396 still in it and my 70 is a 350. I think I will have to find some small block compresser brackets. Thanks for the help.

I could use a fan shroud for an A/C BB truck

Chevy2racr, I might be going to drop a small block in that truck to sell it after I get the AC off. My son wants the BB for his 68 chevelle. Your not all that far away. Maybe we can get together.
