Front hub and rear axle question
A buddy of mine bought an 85 chevy truck for the engine and trans and said I can have whatever I want off it.
Will the front hub and rear axles work on my 68? Mine has drop spindles and disc brakes but still 6 lug 12 bolt rear end drum brakes.

The rear axle is just a matter of cutting and re-welding of whatever brackets you need to make it work. Coils vs. leaf and shock brackets. You may have to run a conversion type u-joint, depending upon what is on your driveshaft.
For the front, you are really better off in swapping the entire crossmember. It shouldn't be too bad since your buddy will already have the engine/transmission out of the donor. That way all of the front suspension parts "match", coming from the same year truck, plus they are nearly 20 years newer. |

This is a great way to do a 5 lug, disc brake conversion. Like Longhair said put the entire crossmember under as a unit.Keep in mind the rear axle will be wider than your current axle but it should work just fine.
