Project Update w/questions

OMG! I have 4 solid days to work on ol' Blue uninterrupted! Here is the latest pictures but with them comes a couple questions if you don't mind. Question 1: On pic 3 there is a water port broken off, can I get by without running the coolant through the throttle body? Question 2: 24# injectors, 58mm throttle body, 100psi fuel pump with a 40psi fuel regulator, will these numbers work together? Any suggestions or comments welcome.

im not really that eperienced with tbi, but why would you run coolant thru it? seems to me like all it would do is heat everything up, causing a loss of power.

i gotta google this.

I believe it will only affect operation in cold temperatures, mainly at idle.
I'm not sure about your 2nd question. I want to say it depends on our fuel curve. If your injector is too big you could turn down your AFPR....But it boils down to if it's big enough/too small for for your set up.

GM ran water thru the throttle body for cold driveability issues. One of the first things you do to make more power is to bypass them! The issue of are the injectors,fuel pump, throttle body matched. I think you are ok, BUT, my opinion is that you need to find a chip burner and tell him what your setup is and have a custom chip burned for your application. I used to play with Buick Grand Nationals, and I would run 42.5 lb injectors with 40 PSI fuel pressure, and a TON of boost. There are people with software and hardwaqre that will burn custom chips for these cars, and would think you should be able to get exactly what you want. Might look up a compant called TPIS they specialize in TPI.

well that makes sense.. i guess the fact i have never seen snow will justify my confusion on that. googled it and i saw some info indicating companies make block off plates for that..

I have personally dealt with Brian Harris of Harris Performance 336-471-2827 sales@tbichips.com on two ocassions, one for a chip for a 96 Impala SS, the other a 93 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 with a swapped Vortec running bored TBI and a LT4 cam. He sells on EBAY under "TBI CHIPS" and has 100% positive feedback with over 2800 sales. He went out of his way to answer all of my questions on the truck chip.

Answer:
If the truck want see really cold temps then yes you will be fine. I have never hooked mine up. The factory had this done for cold driving in the northern states.
You can see mine in this picture. I put the hoses on there but they aren't necassary.

Whoever you have do your chip tell them what you have and what you want out of the motor. They can either make it work or tell you what you need to do.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

When I had the supercharger on my 03 Chevy 5.3L, I had to bypass that too. In Colorado during the winter, I never had a problem with cold starts.
