Wiper motor "park" does not work
My wipers stopped "parking", now with fall / winter upon us, this problem has become annoying. I've never had the wiper motor out, not sure if I go at it from the cowl or up under the dash. I'm thinking there's an issue with the park switch on the motor.
Any suggestions or pics of the motor installation? Thanks!!

Re: Wiper motor "park" does not work
Hi Greubin.
To remove the wiper motor you have to get at it from both under the dash and through the cowl. Here are the steps. 1. remove wiper arms- There is a little button on the bottom of the arms to release them from the mechanism, 2. Remove the cowl panel- 4 bolts and several screws. Screws are along the edge where cowl meets the hood and a couple in the grating in the cowl. 3.remove the nut that holds the wiper motor to the wiper mechanisim then pop arm off motor. 4. time for fun in the cab 5. Remove ignition switch- This really helps alot. Turn switch to acc position and stick a paper clip in the small hole to push button. While pushing button turn counter clockwise to remove ignition cylinder. 6. Then gently tap the trim ring counterclockwise till it comes free. 7. Remove washer pump cover- just pulls off 8. un bolt washer pump assembly- leave hoses on unless you are replacing it to. Also remove pump cam, a large cross. A perfect time to too. 9.un plug all wires- there are usually 2 to 3 wires. 10. Unbolt three bolts to remove wiper motor- It may be a little stuck with the seal just pull firmly. 11. Get rebuilt motor and seal- If you cant find a seal locally just put a thick bead of calk around where the seal goes. Then push the motor back up into the hole and bolt in. 12 install washer pump cam and bolt washer pump back up. 13. Install all wires back on. 14. reinstall igniton switch by tapping the retainer back on and just reinserting the lock cylinder and turn clockwise. 15. bolt lever back to motor in cowl area. 16. test mottor to make sure it is operating properly and stopping in tthe down position. If nott then swap the arm on the motor 180 deg. and try again. 17. Once it is operating properly reinstal cowl and wiper arms. the arms just press on. Hope this helps. Re: Wiper motor "park" does not work
I found it a lot easier to go through the cluster. I think I was sore for a week after going at it from the bottom of the dash. Might have to disconnect a few things on the cluster to get it out.

Re: Wiper motor "park" does not work
Having steps listed is nice. Working from under the dash is not easy. You can pull the seat out and have a better go at it. Going through the gauge panel hole is sensible, too.
Just think.....there's only three bolts holding the motor in place.....it's all the peripherals that get in the way. As for the button on the bottom of the arms, I don't recall that. On my '96, that's true. But on the '67-72's, you have to "lift" the bottoms of the arms off of the splined shaft. Lisle makes a tool, that "lifts and separates" them from the shaft. Other than that point, make sure that the motor is "clocked" properly when you reinstall it or the wipers will not stop in the right place. I believe there's a reference point embossed on the outside of the housing.

Re: Wiper motor "park" does not work
Some wipers have that little release for pulling them off. Some don't. I have pryed them off with a large screw driver and a lever point but be careful about scratching the paint.

Re: Wiper motor "park" does not work
Has anyone had any success cleaning the park switch B4 in lieu of replacing the wiper motor?
