Re: Gonna be ordering some things from lmc soon...and a thank you..
The only suggestion I have is to support the vendors here on the board. Lmc is great for looking at the catalog but I have had terrible luck with them. I order all my stuff from wes at classic heartbeat cause he's close and a member on this board.

Check with Tim Christian at www.christiansclassics.com
He's in Rogersville Tn and may be close enough to save you the $$$ on shipping. He has a store in Rogersville,I don't know how far that is but you can easily pay 1/2 the cost of some things just for shipping.

Tim knows his stuff, and is more than happy to talk to you on the phone if you need parts. Real good guy, I won't hesitate to spend more $$ with him in the future.
LMC... eh, not so much. They are improving, but they still have problems in my book. |

I can certainly vouch for GMCPaul too. Great service.
LMC has no interest in this board, so I support a brother who does support this place.

I agree... all the board vendors are good guys and own their own trucks as well....
LMC is good for their catalog pictures and some odd pieces that are hard to find...

I'm about an hour from classic heartbeat. Can you go to the store and just pick the stuff up to save that on shipping? And has anyone used their blazer tanks and carpet kits?

I bought some parts from LMC, it won't happen again. Real poor quality, made in China stuff. They might be cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

Re: Gonna be ordering some things from lmc soon...and a thank you..
There are certain items that only LMC has and they aren't a bad source for. The problem is you never know if your going to get quality repops, or import crap. The forum vendors in most cases are small companies that pride themselves in service. They tend to avoid inferior quality products in their line because they want to stand behind what they sell.
I agree with the majority here in suggesting our forum vendors, but make sure you get on the LMC mailing list. Those catalogs are an awesome source of pics and diagrams.

I have purchased most my 70cst resto parts from WES (Classic Heartbeat)because of an act of kindness that he showed to me back in July 2001. I made a promise that if I was able to do a resto on my 70cst that I would buy most my parts from WES...and so I have. WES like Tim Christian and Paul know, own, love and understand our trucks. Yes...it's a business but to these guys its more than business...It's a family affair. As others have said there are other Vendors who support this forum and they are great Vendors who also will go the extra mile to work with us and offer advice on our truck issues. JMHO

Re: Gonna be ordering some things from lmc soon...and a thank you..
oldblue1968chevy-I'm above you just outside Nashville. I'm going to drive over to Tim's this Wed, Dec 2nd. If you need me to pick that stuff up for you I can. Tim's the best and alot cheaper then lmc. He won't kill your wallet like lmc. Just thought I'd offer picking up the parts for you.

Re: Gonna be ordering some things from lmc soon...and a thank you..
the only thing LMC has going for them is a nice catalog. There parts are junk!
Support your board member's that are in the aftermarket and used truck parts! You can never go wrong doing that, tee it up and Tim Christian and the other's can be a big help on money and tec talk!jmo
