is a 67-69 4WD FRAME the same as a 72 2wd?

I found a 67 and a 69 shortbeds frames in PERFECT condition BUT they are 4WD Ima NOOBIE at this restore (mechanicly challenged) but I have this sweet 72 thats got a cherry body. I want to drop it and do a frame up restore with all the goodies I was thinking on just starting with one of these PERFECT frames and building it up from there! WILL IT WORK???

I am sure some of you are laughing like hell but im 26 and dont know much about a restore and since this is my first I want to do it right.

There are a ton of other parts still on these trucks and they are my mom-in-laws nieghbors who are like family, and they told her they want them GONE!!!!!!!!

SCOREEEEEEE (well maybe)

so after all that rambling

my simple questions is; Is a 1967-1969 frame off a shortbed 4wd the same frame as a 1972 shortie?

Thanks 72 Pete

While unable to answer the Q 100%, I'll say that your '72 probably has the coil spring set up, which i believe is not the same.
Either way, you could nab the parts from the neighbor lady, sell them, and get plenty of parts than you want.
One question though....why not use the frame under the 72 right now? Being that you are in Cali makes me think they are not rusted up and falling apart... What gives? THe numbers can come back and nip you in the rear.

the original frame is in killer shape

But I was hoping not to have my truck down for awhile....I guess Im going to have to deal with it. Ya I better keep the #s original. Maybe I can sell it then, its almost a complete truck but the 350ci isnt running......Ill see if he wont let me piece it out. Are things like wheel wells and hoods shipable items? Once I had that done Id probally have a hard time offing the frame right?
