lowering the rear

were can i get longer rear u bolts for my 71 c10 to lower it down? or can i just use two long grade 8 bolts?

DO NOT,... I repeat DO NOT use grade 8 bolt. Buy U-bolts to lower the rear. I know a guy that used long bolts on his lowered truck,for over a year, until the rearend came out from under his truck on a corner. Destroyed a beautiful truck. And this guy should have known better.

Uh, ditto on the above. I bought new u-bolts from ECE and they weren't much IIRC; maybe $30?? I'm pretty sure they have different lengths. You should check with the board vendors. One of those guys should have them. Whatever you do, don't use inferior hardware. You might save now, but you'll surely pay later.
