Re: 196? 4 door

That is a dandy find...a 1963 K20, that appears to have the factory (done by jobbers) crew cab build. They were commonly done by:

Crown Steel Products Co. of Orrville, OH
Proctor-Keefe Body Co., Inc. of Detroit, MI
Automotive Industries Incorporated of Owendale, MI

These companies also offered a 4-door version, that was promoted as a sleeper.

This information is pulled from the Silver Book-Engineered Vocational Equipment for Chevrolet Trucks.

Keep your eye on this one, because if the owner decides to sell and it is in as good condition, as noted, you will want to nab this one. Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: 196? 4 door

Dont be suprised if it has a 235 or 261, because early first series 63's 4x4's used carryover 60-62 4x4 frames and engines, second series used the new 230 and 292 and redesigned frames. If it is a V8, check the style of front motor mounts to tell what frame it is.I would leave name and number also.
