Summitt sells the Hooker kit, just choose/add the type muffler you want. I'm thinking about buying this as the shops around here are all $375+

You can probobly have local muffler shop build you one for cheaper. Don't forget shipping on that kit will be pretty high. I don't know about the lmc kit, but my son's '67 is routed straight out the back and there isn't enough room for a spare tire.

I have the LMC kit, with turbos, and straight out the back. Spare tire fits fine on my '72 with coil springs. I'd take a picture, but its snowing outside right now. Truck is a long bed.

I bought LMC's dual exhaust kit. Actually it's a heartthrob brand exhaust kit. I would do it again if I needed it, nice kit.

Re: LMC exhaust kit? Pics?

mines just a straight 6 single but their kit went in pretty easily, just one hanger wouldn't reach so i used one of those universal jobbies. its rock solid and fits up tight in the frame.

Re: LMC exhaust kit? Pics?

I wasn't pleased with the fit of the LMC kit. I had to do some fab work to get it to fit around the transfer case crossmember. Also, no matter how much I adjusted it, I couldn't get the pipes to be level out back. Do not get the kit with the mufflers, they are very restrictive. I have not had any luck with LMC so far. I just got in some patch panels for my bed, and they are way off! I don't even think they are usable. I would be better off making my own.

Re: LMC exhaust kit? Pics?

The LMC kit sells for $250, I don't know of any muffler shops that can do a nice set for that. I had one on my 68 and it fit perfectly, and the turbos sound great! That kit is now on my brothers 72 C20 with the 402, and it sounds great too.

I would not hesitate to buy another one, and will actually be ordering two more... one for my 70 K10 and one for Dad's 69 C20.

Re: LMC exhaust kit? Pics?

I just recently got a Magnaflow kit (not from LMC) but the same one available from them. So far we have had to fab a pipe from the Cross over to the manifold. We also decided to change some of their mounts, but besides that the kit is going in pretty good. Theirs always going to be some tinkering around with kits like the ones LMC offers.
Just my 2 cents Pat

When you can...
In relation to the frame rails, are the tailpipes inside, outside or under them? Approx distance between pipes?
Thx...
