Am I crazy? lol

Am I crazy?...I am seriously thinking about changing my 70 chevy cst front clip to a 67 GMC front clip. I really love the sloped hood of the 67-68 and i love the dual headlight gmc grill. I dont understand why everyone with gmcs converts them to chevys. I think the GMC grill is badass and the GMC's are kinda like the underdogs of sorts. I plan on shaving the marker lights and exterior of my truck anyways so i mine as well order the 67 fenders. Are 67/68 gmc front clips for sale a lot? Or should i just go with new sheet metal?

The answer is yes. Yes you are crazy, Chevy grilles look way better. But hey it's your truck so go for it. Keep the chevy clip around though.

You should see if someone with a GMC will trade you! I think the GMC's are better too, and I don't understand why someone people change the front clips.

I'm with you man, I love the GMC grills too. I almost put a 67 Chevy front clip on my 72 Super... Thankfully I came to my senses. I think the front of your truck looks awesome as is though. My vote is to rock it as a CST.

Do the gmc front end but paint your current one the same way then you can go from one to the other pretty easily and change the look of your truck every few months

Re: Am I crazy? lol

sorry man no i found that picture on this forum the way it is. THanks for all the positive feedback guys, i didnt know that there where so many people that liked the gmcs. Good news is i have been in Iraq for 7 months and get to come home for my midtour in January, and me and my dad have 9000 in goodies to put on here including all new under the hood, new rimsand tires, new heater stuff, bumpers etc. I will take lots of pics and post a small build thread when i get back to This $%&^hole lol. I return from Iraq in May and maybe i will get lucky and find a descent 67-68 gmc front clip, if not i will probably just order it new.(would be great to find someone to swap with)

SPRAY_BOMB p.s.
something about killer is just bad ass....SINISTER like lol. Maybe its the cannabalism of many trucks i dont know but i like the black yellow/occasional rust spot look it just looks meen. That front end was designed to be LOW. Nice truck bro

Re: Am I crazy? lol

No, you are not crazy. I've been contemplating the same thing. I've got a '69 Chevy, but like the looks of the '67/'68 GMC's. Those to me look classy, especially when the grille is painted to match the truck, like Spray-Bomb's. To answer your other question though, I haven't seen too many complete clips for sale on here. There was one a couple of days ago, but that sold pretty quick. Not only that, they are far away from where I'm at. Oh well. . .

Good luck with what you decide, and thank you for your service. It's appreciated more than you know.

Re: Am I crazy? lol

The GMC's look really wide and mean when they are lowered. I think the dual headlights trick you into thinking it's wider than it really is...

I love lowered GMC's

Re: Am I crazy? lol

I put a GMC clip on the chevy longhorn i drive... I say do it!

You do have the advantage of having the worst looking grill of all the 67 - 72 GM trucks on your ride right now... so it should be a no brainer to ditch that grill.

I am biased to the 67-68 GMC grills myself. My 2001 Silverado HD hood reminds me of these as well.
