Replacement Brake lines ?'s disc/disc
I've got a 68 swb that's been converted to 4 wheel disc brakes. I's there any perference as to what year brake lines/master cylinder to order?
I've read that you can use the distribution block used on all 67-70 trucks, so if I just order the same year distribution block as brake lines & order a disc/disc brake master I should be good to go right? Any preference on which master to use? Also read that a mid/late 70's corvette disc/disc master is the way to go. Adj. porp valve has also been recomended? So vette master with a adj. prob. valve or just use the stock distribution block? Going to replace all brake lines and the master/booster. What the hell should I buy? It seems there's quite a few ways to go with this.... I'm not so good with makeing decisions..............lol. Last edited by m6z; 12-02-2008 at 09:02 PM. |

Re: Replacement Brake lines ?'s
those look like good kits, because they are designed for 67-72 trucks apparently. you have to know what you are doing when you mix and match brake parts from different vehicles, like that vette MC. the mc is essentually designed around the rest of the braking system. different calipers have different flow and volume requirements. a single piston caliper has a different fluid volume requirement than a 4 piston. so if you are putting a vette mc on a 67-72 single piston type caliper for example, dont be too surprised if you run into problems. C3 vettes run 4 piston calipers on all four corners. the bore size of the mc as well as the resivoir size controls volume/flow. brakes are the one thing on the truck you dont want to screw up. if this was my project i would call this company, speak to a tech guy, explain to him what brakes you have, and see if what you are interested in as far as a mc/booster will work for your application. you can also ask him what prop valve he would reccomend
