Rear bags on '66 C10 - questions

I would like to install Dominator 2600 bags on the rear of my '66 c10 & have a question. I've seen a few people bolt their bags directly to the trailing arm and frame. I've also seen these brackets being sold for 60-72 trucks.

Are the brackets above necessary? Does anyone have a pic of these brackets installed? I'm guessing the advantage would be that you only need one hole in the frame rail to mount the upper plate rather than drilling a big hole in the frame for the air fitting to pass through.

You don't need the brackets to bolt the bags in place. As you guessed though, the brackets make it easier to do the install. Another thing to consider is the brackets also limit the amount of drop that can be achieved (bags + plates are taller than bags only).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

What we do here is we use an upper plate welded to the bottom of the frame and holes drilled. On the bottom is a plate that has a long bolt that drops in the t/a.
