What exactly does "Highlander" mean?

How does a truck with a Highlander package differ from a truck without? What years had this option. I'm looking at a truck with is listed on the glove box but don't see the difference from the norm.

Re: What exactly does "Highlander" mean?

'72 only, Custom Deluxe only, plaid seat, parchment door panels, black carpet and dash pad and Monte Carlo hubcaps. Everyone I've seen has had tilt also. I believe it was a package designed to help get the '72's off the lot before the body change.

Re: What exactly does "Highlander" mean?

It was also available on Blazers where there was a Highlander option group A, B, & C. Someone has a brochure online that shows what was available in all 3 levels for the Blazer.

Re: What exactly does "Highlander" mean?

Ok, that makes sense. This did have the plaid seat, black pad, custom deluxe emblems with deluxe emblem below, didn't notice the door panel difference, and the carpet was gone. It was a 72. This truck also had all the two tone moldings and with woodgrain lower. Not sure what the Monte Carlo hub caps are but this truck a C20 had the stainless steel polished hub caps.

Re: What exactly does "Highlander" mean?

here is the brochure, and if i'm not mistaken, a c-20 would have standard hubcaps, i'm not as savvy on them.

OMG the plaid seats. You know, there are times I personally am very grateful we are out of the 70's.

Re: What exactly does "Highlander" mean?

I agree, I think it will make a comeback. I am thinking about going with the original interior package. Not sure yet. dk. green plaid is a commitment.

I love it! You sure don't see that interior very often... Even if it is a little tacky, nothing is more righteous than the factory look.

Re: What exactly does "Highlander" mean?

Plaid was used on alot of vehicle interiors.Later GM trucks had plaid seats, too.I happen to like it.It`s standout styling like that (whether you like it or not) that becomes more sought after because things have changed so far from that.Does everyone love herringbone?
