To paint, or not to paint?

I am sure I will get many opinions but I need help deciding if I should paint my inner fenders and core support to match the truck or, leave them gloss black. Ideas and pictures welcome and needed.

I would paint the inner fenders to match the body color, leave the core support black. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

for me it depends on what the truck is used for. My 4x4's are painted black as well as the core support, the firewall is body color, and my valve covers/air cleaner are two-toned to match the body and black. I even painted my alternator bracket OD green since I have a black 100amp alternator

I drive mine alot so I left mine flat black. Personal choice I suppose. I love the look of color matched engine compartments when the engine looks as clean as the outside!

I leave the color on the body and make everything else disappear with black.Plus,I don`t hink inner fenders are much to look at anyway.With the right tires and stance I don`t expect to see the inner fenders.

Correct contrast is so important. The color of your truck can make a difference. I think the fenderwells could depend but the core support should be black. I agree with ramair...if she's a trailer queen, that's one thing. If you are going to use the truck quite often or a daily driver. Give yourself a break and keep it easy to clean. road and engine grime, moisture will get on those puppies. Paint the firewall and the top inside of the fenders, then call it good.

Engine side of fenderwells works either.....color of truck or black. Wheel side of fenderwells should be Black as well as the core support (at least what you can see throught the grill).......just one man's opinion!

The firewall,inner fenders,core support & inside of fenders are all painted shiny black in my truck but my truck is black anyways so it works just fine for mine. If it was a different color I would still match paint the firewall but everything else would still be shiny black..

If you're truck is leaning more toward the custom side, my vote is paint match to firewall.

personaly i think an engine compartment looks best when the focal point is the engine, i guess im saying that i like it when there are 2 maye 3 colors goin on under the hood, the engine one color (chevy orange) the alternator, carb and a few other things as cast (grey-silver), and the fenderwells, firewall, compartment side of the hood, core suport and everything else all the same shade of black, its simple its classic and it will always look great
