It;s a deal if it has barely any "hole rust." I'd get it anyway!

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

It would be worth $300.00 for me just to have it sitting outside my garage so I could use it as reference as I try to reassemble mine.
I say, for parts, grab it!

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

It makes me wonder.... lots and lots of surface rust, but that's no biggie.... if it's rotted to hell then maybe not, but if the cab is somewhat solid it would be sweet to put the whole body onto my '72 frame....

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

I emailed the guy and he said the truck is solid except for the lower part of the cab, cowl panels, floor, rockers, cab mounts, cab corners inner and outer are shot.... sounds like a lot of work, and that's what;s wrong with my '72, rotted cab..... Is the truck a longbed? think it is but I'm not certain.

Is it just me or do parts for the '47-'54 trucks seem cheaper?

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

my cab was in the same shape on my 54gmc. i replaced the outer cowls front floor bothe sides, both front cab mounts and i still need to replace the inner front kick panels. i paid $150.00 for my truck and it was a 1ton duall with no motor,or a box. i might be a lot of work but the price seems reasonable. here is a pic of when i bought mine.

$300, it's worth it even if you just to part it out you could get 3 times your money back at worse, at best it could be the start of a cool truck!

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

I have some pics of the rotted cab.... pretty rotted indded. Fixable sure, but I don't know if I want 2 rot boxes sitting around, even if this truck is COOL.

Re: Does this seem like a good deal?

Go to talk to the guy with $200 stuffed in your back pocket.Put 20 in your left front and 40 in your right. Leave the balance in your truck. Start with 200 and peel it out ,if you need it. I'd sit on $200 ,for a while before I would raise the offer. Make your increases SLOWLY,,like pullin teeth.
Maybe you can get it for $200.You can kinda "feel the guy out' over the phone before you go. Personally,,if he won't take any less,,I would give him my phone # and tell him to call if he can't get that for it. -Keith
