Re: Whats the definition of.....

From some that I've seen...Whatever the owner is not embarrassed to enter into a show. We had a show here not too long ago and some kid entered a Honda civic. I swear the ONLY things not stock on that car was a different stereo and sub box. Now tell me why that is a show car?

I would have to agree.

Although I like seeing daily drivers and under construction trucks at shows
a true "show truck" in my opinion is "all show and no go".

Re: Whats the definition of.....

IMHO

A show truck is trailered show to show, every thing is perfect, shiny, something you are scared to drive in fear of rock chips, that small puddle, bug splat, or other unforseen things, never parked outside unless at a car show.

A driver, very nice, engine should be shiny not perfect, body should be nice it will maybe have a few small rock chips and dings, bugs in the radiator on the bottom of the hood, rubber covering your wheel wells, most always parked inside.

A daily driver, could have nice paint, undercarrage will have road wear and grease on the tie rods and ball joints, should have lots of rubber lining wheel wells and side of box behind tires, engine will have some leaks and a little dirty, maybe some body damage, parked inside to work on or if there is room in the garage.

A beater, this is the funest truck to own! Body will have body damage who cares, tires will be bald, there will be no rubber in the wheel wells either because the engine doesn't have the power to turn the tires or the wheel wells have rusted out, interior usually is a old blanket to cover the springs in the seat, engine will be covered in grease, under carrage will have so much grease you can't find the tie rods or ball joints, the bed should be half filled with empty cans and spare parts, never parked in the driveway (leaks too much).

Just my $.02, I'm just trying to have a little fun while i'm trying not to watch the Broncos game!

Re: Whats the definition of.....

I show my truck from time to time ,I have only had it on a trailer the day I brought it home. I personally don't get having a classic you can't drive but I guess to each his own. I drive mine as much as I want too which is not often enough with limited time and a yard full of cars,I guess mine would be considered a show truck/driver

Re: Whats the definition of.....

You can show anything. But,a show vehicle is one that is like a framed picture on the wall.Just something pretty to look at.They are not driven because they were assembled with great care and expense with the intention to impress picky judges and win trophies. The last thing the builder/owner wants to do is see one flaw appear or any sign of wear.Otherwise known as "Trailer Queens".

Re: Whats the definition of.....

Show Vehicle =

*Vehicle you built
* Vehicle old and untouched
*Vehicle you PAID someone to build for YOU
*Vehicle you BOUGHT and someone else build it

Being that I have had some serious vehicles in the past I must tell you that the best ones to own are the ones that you can drive and not worry about a scratch. Having a vehicle with great stance, nice engine and clean is the best to have.....
