Water leak

I have a 2002 GMC extra cab pickup and have a water leak on the driver side rear carpet and front carpet, has anyone else had this on their vehicle and what was it ? I googled it and found out that Iam not the only one, there seems to be many more who have had this issue with Chevs as well but did not find out what the cause was.
Any help would be appreciated. BC gman

Re: Water leak

I read on another forum that at the edge of the windshield is a black strip that covers 5 screws. They can leak. Here is a link:

Re: Water leak

There is a looooong "sticky" thread on FullSizeChevy.com about water leaks. Here is what was causing mine...

"The door vents (on the back of the cab) were actually the culprit on my truck. The (dried up) foam rubber seals on the vents were soaking up water until they became saturated and then water would drip into the cab. I pulled the vents out, scraped out the old seals and replaced them with 3M Strip-Caulk. It's been raining here all week and not a drop in the cab."
