Update on Ole Blue

It's been a while since I posted so i figured I give an update on Ole Blue. As you may recall I was relocated back to Philly and, after trying unsuccessfully to sell Ole Blue down in Texas, decided to take him with me.

I drove my car up a few weeks ago and after giving it some thought, decided to have Ole Blue brought up on a transport. (There's no way I want to do that drive again anytime soon...) So, as of 6pm last night, Ole Blue is officially a resident of Philly. It was good to get back behind the wheel, I missed him.

Most definitely...No salt for Blue.

My next investment is a cover since I don't have a garage.

Re: Update on Ole Blue

They were out in force last night spraying the bridges and intersections so I put the Smurf in the garage and don't plan on taking it out for a while (until all that cr@p gets washed off the roads). Maybe I should coat my truck with oil like the thread above suggests, luckily, my truck coats itself with oil on it's own

Glad to hear that you got Ole Blue up to Philly.

Side note...

Re: Update on Ole Blue

Salt is such a winter driver killer.... I always wait until the first hard rain to wash it off the roadways.

Be sure to get a cover for that thing, and park it off the street if you can.

Re: Update on Ole Blue

if you have it parked on the street, nad they spray the salt water (brine) then your truck will end up rotting away even if it is parked and covered.
I highly recomend a storage unit. Probably 100 - 150 a month over there... but it needs to be inside.

If they just use rock salt, then parking it is fine, although slashing the sale water on it can end up doing dammage.

Good advice Longhorn. Right now, it's in an off-street parking lot at my apartment complex. I plan to keep an eye on what they do with the lot come snow and ice time. Hopefully, they don't salt much. Worst comes to worst, I have a buddy upstate whose got a garage I could use.

Thanks!

Right now, I'm in temp. housing in Roxborough. Once the house in Texas is sold we'll probably look to buy in Delco/Montco. Someplace close to the city though, I don't like any more than a 30 minute commute.

Where you at?

Texas to Philly....gotta be some culture shock right there! My experience in PA is limited to spending a few days in Pgh. Can't think of anything that I saw there that is drawing me back. Something tells me you aren't there because it was on your Bucket List....

Lots of car shows in different towns around here thru out the year (summer), nice one in Lansdale on Father's Day, they shut Main Street down. Pretty cool when they leave at 10 o'clock, open headers till the cops catch them

Only cruise night would be you and me,lol. Not to say we couldn't start one...not many members over this way that I can find

Well I grew up in PA. and after 30 years it kind of grows on ya so, I consider it "home." BUT I liked Texas and if it weren't for my job and my family, I'd stay.

And not to start an East Side/West Side thing but if you only saw Pittsburgh, you missed out on a bunch...Our Western brothers might as well be Indiana or something. Heck, they call soda "pop" out that way...

Thanks! We'll have get together when the weather's a little nicer. I gotta warn you though, Ole Blue is strictly a 20 footer right now; he needs some bodywork and a fresh coat of paint.

How'd you break your ribs? You play for the Eagles or something?
