since brotherstrucks.com
is having a SALE!!!!!!! I thought about the 67-68 grille on my '70 GMC. The new GMC's have them on their grille so why not. Will they work without a lot modification????
The sale is 10% OFF EVERYTHING now thru January 2009 Also metal for my front end and hood

Re: since brotherstrucks.com
I think you would have to modify it to make it work, but I'm not 100% certain.

The 68 grill is the same as the 69/70 grill. 67 is the only one that says GMC on it (I think that's what you were trying to say.... not sure???) You can run a 67 grill... or a 71/72 grill, on your 70. You just need the correct upper trim bar to match your truck. Since yours is stock, you'd need a 69 - 72 top bar to mount on the 67 grill if you want the GMC lettering, or, convert the rest of the grill trim to 67 / 68 style trim, which is not reproduced. |

Re: since brotherstrucks.com
Travis, did you mean to say 68 Chevy? A 10% sale is motivation to go ahead and get something I need to get anyway. But,not go wild.

Re: since brotherstrucks.com
I assumed we were talking GMC... since you HAVE a gmc, and never mentioned anything about a chevy grill...
So assuming that my assumption was correct... listen closely... the grill in a 68 GMC, is the same as the grill in a 70 GMC, with the exception of the trim that surrounds it. |

Re: since brotherstrucks.com
how can I tell if I just had an aneurysm?
Travis... yes, the 68 grill is the exact same as the 70 grill... so yes, you can install a 68 grill with 70 trim and hood and everything else. I'll type this slow since you don't read so fast... the 68 grill, is the exact same as the 70 grill. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 12-09-2008 at 09:49 PM. |

Re: since brotherstrucks.com
I've seen countless threads on school, military, parts vehicles, possible vehicle purchases, parts to buy... my head is spinning. And I though I had A.D.D.

Re: since brotherstrucks.com
I know, just messin`,I heard you twice the first time.
Travis, the grille you like is a 68-70 grille and the fenders are the same 68-72.All you need is replace/fix what`s bent and the different grille. With the 69-72 hood you will need to use the 69-72 grille surround (eyebrows & hood edge trim). All the GMC grilles are interchangeable. The surround (outer trim) goes with the 69-72 hood to fill the gap up front from a shorter hood.

Re: since brotherstrucks.com
There are two basic types of teenagers. The ones that put too many irons in the fire and go in many different directions; and ones that wont do $!*# except for lounge around. I; like the youngster here was the former.
While neither type is the most productive approach by any means it is still better to be excited about something and go all out than to get excited about nothing and do nothing. That bieng said since I was just like him at 16/17 I have alot of projects that are stripped down or the work done too hastily. Some of it I wish I never touched because things would be easier to repair/re-repair now if they just sat during that time. Personally I would hold off on the grille and get the roof fixed. Brothers sends flyers all the time with sales. The grilles can wait but the rust won't. Last edited by 1956cameo; 12-10-2008 at 01:48 PM. |
