Question Cigarette lighter that LIGHTS up!

I saw this http://www.gmcpauls.com/dash_parts.htm on GMCPauls site for $19.95 which includes the dash bezel, the deluxe stainless lighter, etc. My question is did our trucks originally come with a cig lighter that had a bulb like this?

Re: Cigarette lighter that LIGHTS up!

it's unclear what it took to get it, but yeah, some of them did light up.
I had a 70 CST/20 longhorn that had no provisions to lite up, and a 70 base model C/30, that did have the light.
Go figure.

Re: Cigarette lighter that LIGHTS up!

Anyone have a pic of one? GMC Pauls web link isn't working for me (the one to click on for the lighter itself).

I got one for my dad's truck from GMCPauls and it's sweet! The 2 wires are color coded and it's plug and play Everything is included with instructions even though it's a 10 minute install. Highly recommend it for under 20 bux I'll see if I have a pic.

hook the red wire to the CIG terminal, and the green wire to the cluster feed terminal... that one will control the light just like the inst panel lights. on and off, and if you dim them, it'll dim too

mine is lit when the lights are on. the only time the light is seen is when the cig lighter is removed from the receptical

Re: Cigarette lighter that LIGHTS up!

I installed one from LMC, cost $14.95 complete. I like it and it really lights up the cig lighter.

That's the same one I bought. When I installed it, I said, "No SH**!! It lights up!!" Useless but cool... just because...
