Trans Swap-TH350 to 4 speed manual

I was wondering if anyone knows if a 4 speed manual trans out of a 2wd 67-72 chevy truck would work in my 70 4x4?? Is the output shaft on the 2wd trans the same or different than one for 4wd. I have found several trucks at salvage yards that are 2wd w/ the 4 speed in them, but finding a 4x4 w/ a 4 speed has been difficult.

Thanks,

Luke

The output shaft would have to be changed. Not only that, you would need a new 4 speed adapter and 10 spline input transfercase. Advanced Adapters would have the adapter and sleeve to convert yours from a T-350 to 4 speed, but there is also lots of other work and parts that would have to be chased down that are exclusive to the 4X4. It would be better to find a 4 speed 4x4 donor. WES

Too bad were so far away...

I just did the reverse swap and have everything you need. Clutch, flywheel, bell housing, t-case, trans, linkage, etc. And I would like to get it out of my shop!
