moving parts coast to coast?

With all the guys here on this forum from coast to coast. We need to put are heads together about having some kind of coast to coast shipping points. Seems the west coast is loaded with rust free sheet metal and guys on the east coast sometimes need large parts moved west. There has got to be a way to get some kind of transportation for these parts. any idea's?

I have seen several deals I would have pulled the trigger on if shipping was reasonable and I'm willing to wait as probably 90% are on here till a load would be worthwhile. Seems like we could "Pool" the parts going from one coast until there was a load worth and a return load worth on the opposite coast or at close enough points along the route.

I'd be willing to help deliver parts within VA, WV and bordering states in return for reduced shipping on parts I needed sent from a distance so maybe something like that could be worked out.

Maybe we can get a seperate forum section just for shipping and parts moving. I make a run from Chicago to Upstate New York-Western Mass a few times a year and do not mind helping for extra gas money. I sometimes am on the road all night and meeting up with people may be the tough part. If it is along the route and easy on and off-no problem. Usually going east with empty 16 foot cargo trailer. West is pretty filled up however.

Yea, I have been thinking about this as well. Something like helping Rick gather trucks and part them out, and then maybe two to three times a year, Rick and I drive East with one or two trailer loads and unload at predermined meeting spots....
