Since my 6.0 swap, I have put a couple hundred miles on the truck. Runs great, a little doggy off the line due to stock 2.73 gears ;(
Been doing some research on getting new posi unit and 3.73 gears in the 10 bolt. Should be fine I won't take truck to track or anything, just some john force burnouts here and there, lol
I know the new gears will wake up my truck.
On the other hand, those big brake kits from mc gaughys have had me mesmerized since they came out.
Give me your opinions on what I should do next, big brakes or new rear?
Either way, one will have to wait until at least late summer, if not next xmas.
Help me choose!

Well,

That's a tough call, With more go (gears) you need more whoa (brakes)

Get the gears, but just remember the 2 second rule. Besides these trucks came with a good brakes to begin with. it's not like you're rolling arpound with 4 wheel drums.

I say get the grears. The truck will run better with them.

Caddy or Lincoln rear disc setup. 5X5 bolt pattern. Same track as the front width. Nice gears already installed!!

I agree with Adam gears and posi ( I like Eaton posi personally). My truck will roast tires with this set-up. The low first gear of 700r4 don't hurt none either.

Get the gears. I imagine you would pick up some gas mileage being that the truck will actually be geared correctly. Right now you are lugging off the line. 700R4 trucks do OK off the line with less than ideal rear end gears because of the 3.06 first gear, but the 4L80E with it's 2.48 first gear is going to have a tougher time.

For the brakes, get the HD brake booster if you don't already have one. I swapped a light duty one out for the HD model and it seemed to require a lot less pedal effort, but your mileage may vary.
