transfer case identification
can you identify a transfer case by the numbers on it - because I'm 4WD stupid, and am trying to figure out what I have.
here's what I have, I can't take pics of the whole t-case, due to location of the vehicle, but here's the numbers. any help is greatly appreciated. |

Re: transfer case identification
Well the NP in the picture tells me it's a new process. Maybe a couple more pictures showing more of the case?

Re: transfer case identification
I'm just guessing by what I can see (plug, and inspection cover) I'm guessing it's a 205.

Re: transfer case identification
I want to piggyback onto this thread as I have the same question regarding my transfer case on my '71 GMC K20. Per the pic, mine has similar numbers as above but not the NP designation. The little triangle on mine almost looks like a Rockwell image?? I am guessing the cool NP with the gears image was simplified to just an N for New Process? Is it still an NP205? Were Rockwell and New Process affiliated at some point?
Thanks for any input! |
